Im attempting to make pumpkin chips the way my mum does, by boiling the pumpkin first to cook it, then frying it. I have about 250 grams of butternut pumpkin, cut into four pieces (so it cooks faster). How long should i boil it for?

I tried one recipe and the batter was so thick they wouldn’t cook all the way through. I tried adding more milk and they just burned.

I can only use canned pumpkin, so please keep that in mind with your suggestions.
