Just Me asked:

My sister’s fiance bought a pumpkin pie from some boy scouts however the stupid thing comes uncooked. So we’ve got a 9-12 inch(I can’t find a ruler anywhere!) pumpkin pie waiting to be cooked sitting in our fridge. So, anyone know how to cook it or can direct me to a website that will help me out?
for all you smartasses who must think i am some dumb blonde. . the pumpkin pie is NOT cooked. it’s nice of you all to assume that i’m some stupid girl who doens’t know what she’s talking about though. thanks for those who actually tried to help answer my question so far.

How do I carve a pumpkin and also cook its flesh?

Saturday, January 12th, 2008
methroach asked:

Hi, I’d like to make pumpkin pie this week. Normally I use canned, but want to try using fresh pumpkin. I have 2 pumpkins, which I want to carve, but every method that I have heard of for cooking pumpkin involves cutting it in half or something like that. How can I remove all of the flesh from a pumpkin without cutting it all up? Thanks.

How much Pumpkin should I add to a 18.25 oz box of cake mix?

Saturday, January 12th, 2008
whenunderether asked:

I’d like to add the entire 15 oz can of puree (not pumpkin pie filling) to the cake so that I’m not stuck with half the can. How will this affect the amount of liquids (1 1/3 C water, 1/3 C oil) and eggs (three) the box recipe calls for? If I add an entire can, what ingredients need to be reduced and by how much since the pumpkin will be adding a lot of moisture? Professional chefs please answer.

How can you tell if a pumpkin has a lot of seeds?

Saturday, January 5th, 2008
jake asked:

Every year when my family carves pumpkins we save the seeds to bake, season, and eat. Some of the pumpkins have many seed while other have not as much. My question is what would be a sign that a particular pumpkin has more than another? Is there a certain type that produces more seeds or is there characteristics that would tell if one has more seeds than another like: color, shape, age, or weight?
