My boyfriend loves pumpkin pie. I hardly ever cook for him; so I wanted to make it up by baking him a delicious pumpkin pie. I’m sure I won’t have any trouble finding a pumpkin this time of year.

Just carved a pumpkin. Is there any food I can make with the pulp from within?

Not a sugar or cheese pumpkin, just a big 1-foot diameter pumpkin. Seeds great, but what about the pulp and meat from inside?

I’m planning on putting in a pumpkin and gourd patch in my backyard. Any suggestions as to size, type of pumpkin seed and when to plant? I’ve ready conflicting articles on all of these. Yes I do know that they won’t be ready for Halloween.

I see such pretty pumpkin pies on tv, but once in awhile, mine comes out with a big crack in it. I don’t care for whipped cream on top, or I would do that to hide the crack. lol
How can I keep my pie filling from cracking, and hopfully come out pretty like they are suppose to?

If pumpkin is served in desserts during winter, why do so many people believe it can only be eaten in fall?

SirenSong asked:

Not to mention, you can buy frozen pumpkin pies year round, and some grocery stores even sell pumpkin pies in their bakery all year. So why is it considered a strictly fall-only food when the evidence points otherwise?
Even with the invention of refrigerators and freezers, you even have the younger generations who say “you can’t eat anything with pumpkin unless it’s fall”. Why is that? Everyone I know in the older generations think that is a silly concept.

Also, I was wondering if there is a way to freeze or preserve pumpkin for future use? Here in Mexico there’s no canned pumpkin for all my favorite recipes and I want to take advantage of pumpkin season.

How do you remove a rotten pumpkin odor from carpet/room?

rltga asked:

My wife, who is a school teacher, left a pumpkin in her class over the weekend. When she came back Monday, the pumpkin had rotted and there was a foul odor throughout the room/hallway. We cleaned up what we could but the odor has remained. We have tried febreze, vinegar, and also oxy solution from a pet store.

Any better solutions? The odor still remains. . .
